Position: Senior Video Editor, Producer and Video Post Production Manager

In July 2013, The Sun Newspaper established Sun Studios to create original video content for the launch of its new Sun Plus website. However, with only two weeks until launch, no post-production services or video editors were in place.

Appointed Senior Video Editor, Producer, and Post-Production Manager, I was:

• Responsible for the final editing and delivery of all productions to the website.
• The first point of contact between producers and other newspaper departments.
• Tasked with training new staff on editing workflows and Sun website delivery.
• Personally working with talent such as Ian Wright.
• Providing technical support for all post-production issues.
• I successfully delivered high-quality video content for the Sun Plus website, contributing to significant subscription growth, reaching 600,000 paid subscribers by December 2014.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Senior Video Editor, Producer, and Post-Production Manager for Sun Studios.
• Oversaw the final editing and hosting of all Sun Studios’ video content to increase subscriptions and website retention.
• Lead Editor and post-production supervisor of a team of four editors.
• Ensured quality control for all video productions and their hosting on the website.
• Acted as the primary consultant between editors and producers.
• Served as lead technical advisor for all post-production workflows.
• Created technical guides for freelance editors and camera crews to streamline workflows.
• Coordinated between post-production and other departments, such as graphics and editorial.
• Trained new staff and freelancers in production and post-production workflows.

Achievements:

• Organized and supervised all post-production staff for Sun Studios.
• Contributed to increasing overall traffic to The Sun website, resulting in 600,000 subscribers by December 2014.
• Developed the department’s post-production workflow from scratch.
• Worked closely with talent such as Ian Wright daily.
• Successfully secured sponsorship for programs like Wrighty’s Road to Wembley from the F.A. Cup.
• Lead Editor for two daily football review shows, The Sun FC and Wrighty’s Sun FC, both fully promoted in The Sun Newspaper.
• Acted as the primary liaison between post-production and other newspaper departments.
